The Archbishop of Paris, Laurent Ulrich, has announced that the reopening of the cathedral is scheduled to begin with a triduum on December 7 and will include an official inauguration in which the French state, which owns the cathedral, will turn it over to the Catholic Church. A liturgical celebration with a Magnificat or a Te Deum will be held that day followed by vespers. Consecration of the altar will take place the following day – and the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception will be celebrated the day after that.
